Fed: Qld vital to Labor's hopes, says Latham

Federal Labor leader MARK LATHAM says Queensland will be vital to his party's federal
election hopes.

Mr LATHAM today made his first foray into the February the 7th Queensland election campaign.

He's addressed a community forum on Brisbane's bayside and visited a child care centre
in Logan, south of the city.

Queensland has only seven federal Labor MPs out of 28 seats after the coalition's devastating
2001 election win.
