WA: Police search for man after girl is briefly abducted

PERTH, Aug 11 AAP - WA Police are searching for a man who briefly abducted a seven-year-old
girl from a street in northern Perth yesterday.

A police spokesman said the girl was near her Girrawheen home around 3.45pm (WST) yesterday
when a man lured her into his car with an offer of money.

Her 10-year-old brother, who was with the girl, ran home to tell his parents what had happened.

Police were called and the police helicopter scrambled to search for the girl.

A family friend found the unharmed girl nearby about half an hour later, the spokesman said.

Both children have been interviewed by police.

The man was described as a tall caucasian, aged in his late teens to early 20s.

The car used in the abduction was described as white with a black stripe and scoop-type
spoiler on the back.
