QLD: Fire destoys fours classrooms at school

A fire has destroyed four classrooms at a school in a central Queensland indigenous community.

Police say they haven't ruled out arson as the cause of the fire to the main building
at the Woorabinda State School.

Fire authorities were alerted by a nearby resident to the blaze just after 7am (AEST).

It's estimated to have caused up to $250,000 in damage.

The school has around 200 students and is the only primary school in Woorabinda, south-west
of Rockhampton.

Education Queensland is considering transporting demountables to the school to house
students when they return from Easter holidays.
